GETTING CLOSER TO THE REAL THING

SAM HILL: THE CAVALIER MR. THOMPSON (SECOND-TO-LAST ATTEMPT) October, 2007

 

Okay, so here are a few panels from my last failed attempt at this novel. I was really setting myself up for failure with this one, right off the bat, by drawing each page 16 1/4 X 24 1/2 " large. Not only that, but I was drawing it in a slightly more realistic style. Crazy bastard, yes. Below are two pencil stages (and some inked portions) of a one-tier portion of what would have been Page 2 in the book:
