SAM HILL (2009) THE SAME DAY

Okay, here's the very next sketch I made in August of 2009. The cover sketch! I remember that I also drew the final cover art that very same evening (although, I ended up not using that cover in the end). I don't know what I was thinking with the title, Wild West. My guess is that it had to do with being frustrated over my original and VERY long title, The Cavalier Mr. Thompson. In the ensuing years, I would go pretty nuts trying to fit that title on my various cover designs.
