Currently, I'm on page 108 drawing-wise....I've got about 23 pages to go

'til the end of this first novel! My initial plan was to make these each about

52 pages long, but it's very hard to do an introductory book (with a story

line too) that's very short. The next novel, which finds Sam living as a

working-class traveling Hobo will probably clock-in at about 96 pages.

I mean, I'm trying to do twelve of these books in all, y'know? Enjoy

I'm sorry to say that Web Of Comics will be very spotty this week with new material because I am going away this week for my girlfriend Amy's sister's big wedding in Philadelphia. But, when I return, this site will be devoted to SAM HILL and nothing but for a whole month! I am in the home stretch of getting the whole book finished and I have obligations to both France and Spain to get this thing in the can before 2012 get here!

I will probably only be able to post the last page of Don't Look Back! this week and that's all, but if I have the time, I'll try to post some Sam Hill too.

By December, things should be back to normal here and I will continue with Dry County, Yearling, Vikings' End and Sam Hill all together again.

Unfortunately, there will be no new pages for one week here at WEB OF COMICS...My gal Amy and I are off to the Alabama coast for a much needed vacation. It has been over six years since I last took a vacation and I think it's been close to that for Amy as well. I tried very hard to draw double the amount of pages last week, but I couldn't pull it off. So, enjoy today's installment of Yearling and I will see all of you back here on October 10th.

Today ends Gunnar's (and his pals) life on Earth in the year 996 A.D.

Next week he will be taken to his reward--to the halls of Valhalla!

A slight art style shift will occur as well--the "afterworld" final chapter

in our story will be drawn much like the first three pages of Vikings' End

was drawn, since our story will be shifting back into fantasy again.

Today begins our first NEW feature on Web of Comics, Dry County! My first, fully-scripted

story I've ever done. Normally, I write and pencil giant (actual-size) thumb nails for about

25 pages or so, and then begin re-penciling and inking them. for fifteen years I'd tried typing

up scripts first off, but I'd always find myself not wanting to illustrate the book afterwards.

But now I think I've finally grown up a bit and have become more receptive to the idea of

really planning things out before drawing.

This was very important for Dry County especially--being that it is a mystery. For this book,

I decided to use the Agatha Christie method of writing; where you first solve the mystery at

the end of the book and write the rest of the story backwards. It worked beautifully! Granted,

I had to go back AND forth with the script--combing through the story, fixing plot holes, but

ultimately, this method proved very effective for writing a mystery.

Anyway, enough of my gabbing... Today, meet Lou Rossi-- a low-rent, (sometime) amateur

detective, who always seems to be thrown into one mystery or another that he's personally

involved with. This first novel, in a series, finds him living in Miami,  Florida, circa 1990. But

I don't want to give away anymore than that--read on, tune in each week, and you will
